(1) Land selection and land preparation
Peony likes cold and dryness, avoids heat and humidity, and is afraid of strong wind and hot sun, so when planting peony, it should choose loose soil and deep sandy loam soil, which requires peony planting plots to be high-pitched and sunny, not heavy stubble, and has a good ability to drain and irrigate. 1~2 months before the peony planting, the depth of 50~60cm can be, leveling into a high furrow, the furrow is turtle back shaped, in order to drain, the furrow width is 1.5~2.0m, the ditch depth is 30cm, and the ditch width is 40cm.
(2) Sowing seedlings
The sowing and seedling raising of peony is suitable after the summer heat to before the white dew, that is, at the end of July of the lunar calendar. Select mature seeds with full particles, soak them in warm water at 50 °C for 24~30 hours, treat them with 500~1000mg/L of gibberellin for 24 hours before sowing, and mix well with an appropriate amount of plant ash for sowing.
Sowing hole sowing, strip sowing, hole sowing 6~8 grains per hole, every 20cm1 hole, strip sowing row spacing 15cm, open 4~6cm ditch, the seeds every 4~6cm sowing 1 grain in the ditch, and then cover the soil about 3cm, slightly watered, for moisturizing, can be shaded on the seedbed, avoid watering too much, to prevent soil compaction, remove the shade before winter, cover the seedbed with straw or leaves before frost to prevent frost damage, in February of the following year, remove the mulch, and water. Pay attention to loosening the soil and weeding after germination.
(3) Field management
Transplanting and planting: After the leaves fall in autumn, that is, in September ~ October, the 2-year-old seedlings are dug up and transplanted. Dig pits according to rows, plant spacing 50cm×30cm, and 20~30cm deep, and plant 1 strong peony or 2~3 smaller peonies in each pit. When filling the soil, the root system should be straightened, and the roots should be stretched and closely connected to the soil, and watered after planting to fix the roots.

(4) Cultivating and weeding
After the spring budding of the second year of transplanting, we will start cultivating and weeding, and we will cultivate 3~4 times a year to keep the ground free of weeds and loose soil. Generally, combined with cultivating and weeding, soil cultivation should be carried out.
(5) Lugen
When it is sunny in April ~ May, remove the mulch, peel off the soil around the rhizosphere, expose the roots, and let them receive light. After 2~3 days, combined with cultivating and weeding, and then fertilizing the soil.
(6) Top dressing
Peony needs a variety of nutrients throughout the growth and development cycle, and if the growth cycle lacks a certain mineral nutrient element, it cannot grow and develop normally. The essential nutrients are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sulfur (S), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), copper (cu), molybdenum (Mo), boron (B), chlorine (Cl), in addition, carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), etc. Of these essential nutrients, except for carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, which mainly come from air and water, the rest of the elements are mainly supplied by the soil.
Reasonable fertilization is an effective measure to increase crop yield and improve quality. During the whole growth period of peony, due to the large demand for nitrogen and the low effective nitrogen content of the pilot soils, the appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer should be applied, mainly nitrogen, nitrogen and phosphorus. Water is used to adjust fertilizer to improve soil irrigation and drainage capacity. Make full use of natural precipitation and groundwater resources, gradually develop from well irrigation and canal irrigation to sprinkler irrigation and drip irrigation, and use water to adjust fertilizer.
