A: Glass handicrafts are artworks with ornamental value, collection value or practical functions, made from glass as the main raw material through processes such as blowing, pressing, carving, and painting. A: Common materials include ordinary soda-lime glass, which is low-cost and easy to process, suitable for daily glass handicrafts; high borosilicate glass, which is resistant to high temperatures and impacts, and is commonly used in glass tea sets and lamps; crystal glass (leaded crystal and lead-free crystal), which has high transparency, strong refractive index, and good gloss, and is suitable for high-end carvings and ornaments.

A: Blown glass handicrafts are mostly handmade, with flexible and diverse shapes, and can present natural and smooth lines and unique artistic sense. There may be tiny bubbles or irregular marks on the surface, which are unique; pressed glass handicrafts are mass-produced by molds, with regular and uniform shapes and precise details.

A: Common problems include shattering. Glass is very brittle and is easily shattered by collision, falling or sudden temperature changes; scratches. The surface hardness is low, and long-term friction or contact with hard objects will cause scratches, affecting light transmittance; color loss.

A: When placing them, choose a stable tabletop, avoid placing them on the edge or in a location that is prone to collision, and use a non-slip mat to fix the bottom. Avoid sudden temperature changes, do not suddenly put cold glass handicrafts into hot water, or move them from a high temperature environment to a low temperature environment to prevent thermal expansion and contraction that may cause breakage.

A: Use dry cotton cloth or soft brush to gently wipe the dust on the surface. Fingerprints and oil stains can be wiped with a soft cloth dipped in neutral detergent (such as dishwashing liquid), then wiped with clean water, and finally dried with a dry cloth. For minor scratches, apply a small amount of toothpaste, gently polish clockwise with a soft cloth, and then wipe it clean; deeper scratches need to be treated with professional glass polish.
