Camphor Pine Board

Keep it Dry
Moisture is the biggest enemy of wood. Store your Camphor Pine boards in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent rot and decay. Ideally, store lumber products indoors or in a dry environment to prevent cupping and bowing. Avoid storing outdoors, in damp basements, or directly on the ground.

Elevate and Air Circulation
Always elevate the boards off the ground using pallets, cinder blocks, or wood spacers to avoid drawing in ground moisture and to allow for proper air circulation around the boards.

Keep it Flat
Store boards flat and level to prevent warping and bowing. Use stickers (thin, evenly spaced wood strips) between layers to facilitate airflow throughout the stack and ensure proper drying, preventing uneven pressure and moisture buildup. You can also weigh down the top of the stack to prevent boards from curling.

Protect from Sunlight
Direct sunlight can cause discoloration, drying, and cracking. Store the boards in a shaded area or use a UV-resistant cover if storing them outdoors to protect them from sunlight.

Pest Protection
Wood is susceptible to insects like termites, beetles, and carpenter ants. While the presence of camphor can act as a repellent, maintaining good storage practices is key. Ensure your storage area is not accessible to insects.

End Sealing
To minimize cracking and splitting caused by rapid drying at the board ends, apply an end sealer or wax-based product as soon as possible after cutting the wood.

Safety and Inspection
Keep the storage area tidy and free of clutter. Regularly inspect the lumber for signs of mold, insects, or damage. Make sure stacks are stable, with heavier boards at the bottom, and avoid stacking too high.
